Feeling the Art’ is an interactive programme especially for the blind and visually impaired with their friends and carers. Feel, touch, and make art together.
Feeling the Art Group Therapy is a workshop in cooperation with Suan Lian Foundation for the visually impaired in Taiwan.
The programme consists of an interactive small tour and workshop, which encourage the use of your senses. You then go to the studio for a workshop and playing with clay. Clay can be moulded into endless forms. Humans have been making objects out of clay for ages. Playing with clay encourages trial and error.
The initial goal is developing the therapeutic alliance. This relationship is one based on trust; the client needs to feel safe in the therapy room, both physically and emotionally. Only a safe atmosphere of emotional and psychological in the group, the role of art therapy and creation and mutually supportive transmission can begin to work.
